I spent $1.08 to get a clear bird feeder that I turned into a camera housing. No. By the way I bought another camera and put it on top of my house.Waterproof.
I know it says weatherproof, but some people think weatherproof means waterproof. It hangs under the eave of the garage and it has withstood 2 tropical storms and a multitude of rain storms. This system works great.
I can see and hear everything.I can even read the license plate numbers of my car without the outside porch light on. That camera still works - 1 year and going strong.Hope this helps.Quint It is not the same.Weatherproof and waterproof are two different things.
I have had my camera outside for a year.
on the good side of things it works perfect in the day time, good clear picture, I don't know about sound cause after all I have to have it pointing out a INSIDE window to the outside so I dont have the sound on. oh AND the LED lights dont even work at all. I guess this is what you get for 50 bucks, a half way working cam that the ad lies. This cam is [.]. IT CLAIMS TO BE "Weatherproof." in its add here and its NOT you can NOT have it outside, it says do not put in the rain, do NOT put in moist areas and do NOT put in sunlight, how the heck is THAT weatherproof.
If you need the night vision then it probably would have to be mounted closer to the object. At night though we don't have much of picture since the camera is mounted all the way at the ceiling (11 feet from the floor) and we have blackout curtains, but we don't really need it and the sound without the static is enough for us. We're using it for our kids room. We tried wireless monitors but we couldn't get any descent reception - probably due to the area where we live, midtown Manhattan. This serves it's function.
